Sulfur Content Changes

The federal government has adopted new regulations regarding sulfur content for fuels used in certain trade classifications. These will go into effect on June 1st of this year. Sellers such as Midstream Fuel Service LLC, and the refiners we and other fuel distributors buy from must adhere to the new regulations on that date. In these new regulations the maximum sulfur content changes from 5000 ppm (0.5%) Sulfur, to NRLM (Non-Road Locomotive & Marine) which is generally 500 ppm (0.05%) Sulfur. Therefore the product we make available at our terminals and through our barge deliveries will change to meet these new mandates.

There are numerous questions that can only be answered in the marketplace at the time of change that both you as a user and us as your supplier are interested in the answers to. At this point however, I want to assure you that we have been keenly aware of the pending changes for some time, and that we have a system in place to continue handling your fuel needs as safely, efficiently, and economically as possible. Should you have any questions please contact us. I would be more than happy to discuss these pending changes with you.
